Bailey House provides housing and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Its STARS program serves youth ages 18-24 living with or at high risk of HIV/AIDS. Formerly living in private studios, STARS youth now share apartments. Bailey House plans to develop a youth-only creative therapy group to strengthen community cohesion and communication among its STARS participants. Staff want to bring together residents in a safe setting to ease their integration with a new living situation, help participants handle interpersonal conflict, and improve emotional awareness and social skills.
The Youth Service Improvement Grants support community-based organizations in New York City to enhance their services for children and youth, ages 5 to 25.
