The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) is part of a network of independent settlement houses in New York City. The Isaacs Center wants to improve the after-school component of its Youth and Family Services. Budget cuts have forced a decrease in the amount of time devoted to staff training and professional development, which has led to youth workers being inadequately trained to perform their duties. Isaacs Center will hire Dignity of Children to provide technical assistance and to eventually create a working guide to train line staff. The consultant will also provide training to certain Isaacs Center staff members so that they can attain the New York State School-Age Child Care Credential.
This grant will be used for professional development of staff.
