The primary purpose of the meeting is to identify effective strategies for improving the use and usefulness of research in child welfare – both at the policy and practice levels. More specifically, this roundtable intends to: (1) further identify, reflect on, and synthesize what is being learned to bridge gaps in the use research to improve the child welfare system and outcomes for youth; and (2) illuminate the conditions under which practitioners use research as well as the factors that promote or inhibit research use (i.e. how is research evidence acquired, interpreted, and used to advance its production and uptake within the child welfare system, at the policy and practice levels?
This grant will support a roundtable co-sponsored by Chapin Hall, Casey Family Programs, and the William T. Grant Foundation.
