GO’s programs are not effectively tracking participants’ progress, which limits teachers’ ability to monitor kids and adjust instruction. GO wants to create an educational benchmarking framework that is aligned to the Common Core standards used by schools for grades K–8. GO will then train teachers on the revised benchmarking framework, conduct classroom observations, and coach teachers based on those observations. GO will also formally assess and evaluate the new framework.
The GO Project wants to improve its GO Summer and GO School programs, which provide academic instruction and activities to 450 youth who perform below grade level or have learning or emotional challenges.
