Educational Services Capacity Building Project

Through the Blossom Program for Girls, Youth Empowerment Mission (YEM) offers girls ages 11 to 21 counseling, case management, life skills/leadership development, mentoring, internships, educational services, and recreational activities.

Through the Blossom Program for Girls, Youth Empowerment Mission (YEM) offers girls ages 11 to 21 counseling, case management, life skills/leadership development, mentoring, internships, educational services, and recreational activities. Blossom’s educational services focus on homework help, but this alone has not been sufficient in addressing participants’ academic needs. YEM is now undertaking a major overhaul of their educational curriculum to align content with New York City Department of Education learning standards, improve training and support for volunteers, and encourage parental support of education.
