The Port Chester Carver Center seeks to improve its after-school programming for children ages 6 to 13 through a pilot implementation of the Second Step Violence Prevention Curriculum. The Center will work in collaboration with the Guidance Center of Westchester, which will provide additional services through a social worker for children who need additional support. The goal is to improve students’ non-violent conflict resolution skills and to help staff work more effectively with disruptive youth.
