Casita Maria smART Kids Staff Training

Casita Maria will use this award to improve their smART Kids after-school program, which serves more than 200 students in the South Bronx.

Casita Maria will work with the Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality to evaluate and improve the program. All Casita Maria staff will be trained on the Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA) instrument, which measures the quality of youth experience through observation. Also, the director of programming will attend an intensive Weikart “train-the-trainer” program as part of the award
