FTS involves a collaboration between the Domestic Relations court, community service providers, and university researchers. A new role is developed within the court to assess families’ needs and to link them with prevention programs. Community service providers are trained to deliver three evidence-based prevention programs for fathers, mothers and children. The efficiency of the FTS system to improve resilience recources and reduce child mental health problems is tested using a randomized experimental design with 900 families.
This project supports an experimental trial of Family Transition Services (FTS) to deliver evidence-based prevention programs to families undergoing divorce.
