Services are provided through a combination of in-class instruction, paid internships, and post-graduate support to help participants find jobs. In 2012, TSC was replicated in Harlem, and NPower realized that its lack of formal staff training necessitated moving experienced staff from the flagship site in Brooklyn to Harlem. This resulted in a decline in student outcomes at both sites. NPower will hire a consultant to work with the TSC program director and both Harlem and Brooklyn site managers to develop and implement a formal training program for frontline staff. The consultant will train the director and site managers, who will then train frontline staff. The consultant will also create a training manual.
NPower NY wants to improve its Technology Service Corps (TSC), which provides technology skills training and workforce development services to disconnected (i.e., not working or in school) youth ages 18–25.
