Individual and Contextual Predictors of Participation in Out-of-School Activities

How are child, family, school, and neighborhood contexts linked to participation in out-of-school activities, particularly for disadvantaged youth?

Answering this question is critical to the development and implementation of policies and programs that aim to reduce disparities in opportunities for low income and disadvantaged youth. Investigators will utilize two large data sets: the Panel Study of Income Dynamics-Child Development Supplement and the National Educational Longitudinal Study of 1988 and will combine a variety of complementary person-centered and variable-centered state-of-the-art analytic strategies.
