The Pew Charitable Trusts and the William T. Grant Foundation will host a cross-sector funders convening, focusing on strategies to increase the use of research evidence in decision making and ways to measure the effectiveness of these efforts. This event builds on a previous funders convening, held in December 2019, which focused on building capacity for partnerships between researchers, decision makers, and practitioners; approaches for measuring the use of research evidence in policy and practice; and the development of a cross-sector international community of researchers, decision makers, and funders dedicated to supporting evidence use in decision making. The upcoming convening will engage a larger group of funders and allow participants to examine promising practices for supporting and measuring efforts to inform policy with evidence, discuss how funders can support use-inspired research and evidence-informed policymaking, and identify co-funding opportunities.
This award will support continued collaboration between the Pew Charitable Trusts and the William T. Grant Foundation to catalyze a cross-sector international community of funders focused on increasing the use of research evidence in policy and practice.
