Alliance (KA), to highlight the importance of and elevate the use of education research in federal policymaking. KA is a nonprofit based in Washington D.C., that is committed to improving education outcomes through informed policymaking. Motivated by a thorough understanding of the conditions that promote the uptake of research evidence, KA seeks to bring education researchers and practitioners directly to decision-makers to increase understanding about why evidence and data are central to knowing what works, and how high quality research evidence can help drive student success. At a time when Federal education R&D is under tremendous strain, it is critical that policymakers hear from researchers and practitioners who see the value of research firsthand. KA will leverage its experience and bipartisan relationships in Congress to harness this moment and elevate the impactful contributions of programs such as the National Center for Education Research (NCER), Regional Education Laboratories (RELs), Comprehensive Centers (CCs), and more.
