Mercy Center is a multi-service organization offering support and opportunities to the South Bronx community. They offer extensive youth development programming for academic support and enrichment, including after-school programs, summer camp, and reading and dance groups. In the aftermath of the pandemic, Mercy Center has noticed pronounced challenges in youth participants’ academic and social skills. To address the needs of participating youth, the organization will hire a consultant to develop an after-school curriculum that centers social-emotional learning.
Mercy Center’s improvement project will center socio-emotional learning in the development of a new after-school curriculum to address these students’ challenges.
