Mentoring and Career Development: 2013 Ngo and Lozenski

The William T. Grant Scholars Mentoring Grant was designed to support the professional development of William T. Grant Scholars and help more researchers of color reach higher levels on the career ladder.

Bic Ngo, William T. Grant Scholars class of 2016, is an associate professor at the University of Minnesota. Her mentee, Brian Lozenski, is an African-American doctoral student at the same institution. Ngo will use this award to guide Lozenski through completing his dissertation and preparing for the academic job market. They will also form a writing group and monthly colloquium series on research-community collaborations for an interdisciplinary audience. Ngo’s mentor, Elizabeth Moje, will connect both mentees to a national network of researchers who are interested in research-practice partnerships.
