Grant

Undergraduate Scholars Program

This grant continues the Foundation’s support for the Society for Research on Adolescence’s Undergraduate Scholars Program.

The Society for Research on Adolescence’s (SRA) Undergraduate Scholars Program, formerly known as the Young Scholars Program, recruits ethnic minority undergraduate students to pursue doctorates and research careers in adolescent development. As with recent cohorts, SRA will select twenty undergraduate-level scholars through a competitive process, and pair them with 10 senior and 10 junior mentors. Senior mentors are PhDs with research expertise in adolescent development. Junior mentors are graduate student members of SRA. The 2018 program reflects an updated mentor recruitment strategy, in which alumni have nominated faculty to serve as mentors and new SRA members are asked to indicate their interest in mentoring in the membership application. With this award SRA aims to increase the number of mentors from racial and ethnic minority backgrounds.
