The Foundation is delighted to welcome Anne Gregory, Professor of School Psychology at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, to the William T. Grant Scholars Selection Committee, effective July 1, 2024.
Launched in 1982, the William T. Grant Scholars Program supports the professional development of promising early-career researchers in the social, behavioral, and health sciences. The Selection Committee, composed of accomplished senior scientists in their respective fields, screens all applications before inviting a small group of finalists to interview at the Foundation’s New York City office. After interviewing the finalists, the committee selects the newest class of Scholars.
Dr. Gregory’s research focuses on racial and gender disparities in school discipline, with her recent work examining restorative justice practices and equity-oriented social and emotional learning. Through program development and evaluation, Dr. Gregory aims to improve educational settings and to reduce differential access to supportive school environments.
“I am pleased to join the Scholars Selection Committee. It is an honor to learn about the next generations of early career-researchers who are advancing systems-changing and equity-oriented scholarship. It is inspiring that the Scholars Program supports researchers in expanding their areas of expertise and advancing their own professional learning. I look forward to being a collaborative contributor on the Committee as we identify creative and innovative researchers who are positioned to tackle the entrenched challenges facing youth today,” Dr. Gregory said.
