Webinar: William T. Grant Scholars: An Overview of the Program and How to Apply

The William T. Grant Scholars Program supports career development for promising early-career researchers. The program funds five-year research and mentoring plans that significantly expand researchers’ expertise in new disciplines, methods, and content areas. We recognize that early-career researchers are rarely given incentives or support to take measured risks in their work, so this award includes a mentoring component, as well as a supportive academic community.

In this webinar, held on March 15, 2022,* Program Officer Melissa Wooten and Senior Vice President Vivian Tseng provide an overview of eligibility details, required materials, and review criteria, as well as the background and broader goals of the program. Melissa and Vivian also take time to answer questions from attendees and share practical advice on how to prepare a competitive application.

*(Updated June 2022) In a follow-up recording, Melissa answers three of the most frequently asked questions about the William T. Grant Scholars Program: When to apply, How to select a mentor, and whether or not there is a typical grantee institution?
