How can professional development tools help teachers avoid racial disparities in their disciplinary practices?

The team that developed CLASS will use this grant to develop easy-to-administer tools that assess teacher-student interactions using student and informant (principal/supervisor) surveys.

Support was given to Morningside Center for a collaborative project with the University of Virginia to continue to develop and bring to scale the CLASS/My Teaching Partner as a tool for the professional development of teachers.

Research shows that certain classroom relationships and certain types of student-teacher interactions predict achievement gains.
