The Afterschool Alliance will convene a group of 15-20 key Latino leaders to discuss the relevance and importance of after-school to the Latino community. The discussion will capitalize on the diverse concerns that touch on after-school: safety, academic achievement, teen pregnancy, drop-out rates, attainment of postsecondary education, community support, and myriad other issues. The Alliance will then produce a white paper based on the meeting to distribute to key audiences, such as the after-school community, candidates, youth advocates, Latino leaders, and the Republican and Democratic Party Leadership.
