The Forum for Youth Investment will compare the California After-School Program Quality Self-Assessment Tool to the research-validated Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA) tool. They will also pilot the Wiekart Center’s research-validated Youth Program Quality Intervention (YPQI) in a voluntary group of after-school programs. Finally, they will provide technical assistance and counseling regarding improvement tools, practices, and policies for after-school programs.
Funds were given to the Forum for their support of California’s efforts to build quality improvement and accountability systems for after-school programs, and to better align school-day improvement initiatives and after-school improvement initiatives.
