Understanding the Educational Ecology of Formal and Informal Organizations in Pittsburgh

Crowley will spend his Fellowship at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (CMNH) helping to develop the Center for Lifelong Science Learning.

Crowley will spend his Fellowship at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (CMNH) helping to develop the Center for Lifelong Science Learning. While there, he will work with Dr. Samuel Taylor, director of the Museum. The two will focus on infusing empirically based learning throughout the Museum’s exhibition development and educational program design. Kevin will also build new relationships and partnerships with the formal education system, youth-serving organizations, and foundations to help meet the learning needs of youth. Kevin Crowley is an associate professor in the Learning Sciences and Policy Department in the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh. He also co-directs the Learning Research and Development Center, a large NSF-funded center on informal science education.
