Welcoming Geetanjali Gupta to the William T. Grant Foundation Board of Trustees

The Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Geetanjali Gupta, Chief Investment Officer at The New York Public Library, to the Board of Trustees, effective October 2024. She will also serve as a member of the Board’s Finance and Investment Committee.

Gupta joined NYPL in February 2018. In her role there, she manages the Library’s $1.5 billion endowment. Prior to joining the Library, Gupta was employed with the Harvard Management Company for more than 10 years, including as a Senior Vice President of Absolute Return and Public Market Funds, as she helped manage portfolios valued at more than $15 billion across a wide array of asset classes globally. Earlier in her career, she worked for Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking Division. Gupta graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics, and received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and J.D. degree from Harvard Law School.

“I am honored to join the William T. Grant Foundation as a trustee, an organization whose mission to advance the well-being of young people aligns deeply with my work at The New York Public Library. In my role managing the Library’s endowment, I see firsthand how strategic investments can create lasting impact, and I am excited to contribute similarly to the Foundation’s important work,” Gupta said.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Geetanjali to the Board. Her impressive track record managing portfolios and investments at The New York Public Library, the Harvard Management Company, and others will be of great value to the Board’s Finance and Investment Committee. We look forward to working closely with Geetanjali to advance the Foundation’s mission to support the lives of young people,” said Adam Gamoran, President of the Foundation.
