This jointly funded project with the Spencer Foundation will help support meetings to inform a commission considering the impact of education policy and voting laws on youth. Levine will conduct stakeholder interviews with civic educators, voter advocacy groups, and policymakers to solicit their views on the salient issues, political pitfalls, key audiences, and priorities for research. Information from the interviews will be shared with a national commission of scholars who will then make recommendations about future research on increasing youth engagement in the political process.
How can we motivate informed political participation by young Americans?
