SRA Young Scholars Program

This grant will continue the Foundation’s support for the Society for Research on Adolescence’s (SRA) Young Scholars Program.

The Program encourages minority undergraduate students to obtain graduate educations and pursue research careers focusing on adolescent development. SRA will select 20 young scholars and pair them with 10 senior and 10 junior mentors. Senior mentors are SRA members who earned their doctorate degrees at least five years ago and conduct research on adolescent development. Junior mentors are graduate student members of SRA. The Program provides students with activities and interactions around the SRA biennial meeting. There will be a special preconference on cutting-edge research on adolescence, including a research presentation by junior mentors and a special panel on life in graduate school and on the application process. The young scholars will also shadow their mentors at different points during the biennial conference.
