Youth Service Improvement Grant

To support three academic programs: the After-School Program, the College Prep and Literacy Program, and the Summer Youth Discovery and Employment Program.

To support a summer mentor internship program and fall leadership conference for 25-30 high school students from the Bronx and upper Manhattan.

To support a part-time Program Assistant position at the Girls’ Vacation Fund, which according to its mission attempts to nurture girls from low-income families in New York.

To support music education via scholarships, community concerts and school assemblies, instrumental instruction, consultation with schools starting music programs, the teaching intern project, or the repair of public school-owned instruments.

To support and enhance a program that provides outreach, counseling and advocacy for families who are affected by domestic violence, substance abuse and mental illness.

To support Ballet Tech’s free after-school program for New York City public school students.

To support one of Syracuse’s disadvantaged elementary schools through activities at the YMCA After-School Arts Program.

To support the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment’s Urban Design theme integration efforts at the Academy of Urban Planning, the Academy for Environmental Leadership, and the Green School: An Academy for Green Careers.

To support 27 young students who are not otherwise able to attend the Loco-Motion Dance Theatre for Children.

To support the delivery of creative writing workshops to young people.
