Amanda Guyer, William T. Grant Scholars class of 2016, is an associate professor at the University of California, Davis. This award will support her mentorship with Roberta Schriber, a Latina doctoral student also at the University of California, Davis. Their joint research will focus on how Mexican-origin adolescents’ social experiences shape resilience to and risk for depression. Guyer will help Schriber learn new methodological and analytical techniques using neuroimaging and improve her publication record. They will also initiate internal workshops to raise awareness of diversity and cultural issues.
The William T. Grant Scholars Mentoring Grant was designed to support the professional development of William T. Grant Scholars and help more researchers of color reach higher levels on the career ladder.
