Propensity Scores in Practice: How to Successfully Conduct a Propensity Score Analysis.

The project starts with a critical assessment of the current research practice (particularly in educational research) in using propensity score (PS) methods for estimating causal treatment effects. Based on that assessment we develop guidelines for successfully implementing PS analyses in practice. The guidelines will address the choice of the causal estimand and a specific PS method, the estimation of the PS and treatment effect, as well as the implementation of sensitivity analyses for assessing the robustness of estimated treatment effects.
