Transforming the Child Welfare System to Improve Outcomes for Children and Youth Whose Parents Have Mental Illness

Dr. Nicholson will work within the Massachusetts Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Judge David L. Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law. Her focus will be on mental health and child welfare.

Dr. Nicholson will work within the Massachusetts Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Judge David L. Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law. Her focus will be on mental health and child welfare. She will learn about the internal strategies of a policy-implementing organization as it undergoes major system reform and about external strategies for stimulating system change such as litigation, public advocacy, and public education.
