This grant supports a series of eight forums and one field trip to better inform Washington, DC-based policymakers and practitioners about current and important work to improve the quality of after-school programs. This work builds upon and deepens AYPF’s work focusing on out-of-school time including; what the evidence says about effectiveness, establishment of statewide after-school networks, how schools and districts are using the after-school time to improve student learning, the role of large national youth-serving organizations and small community-based organizations in expanding programming and access, and after-school opportunities for high school youth in selected cities.
