An important component of the Foundation’s grantmaking strategy is to create opportunities for researchers, policymakers, and funders to gather for focused periods of learning, technical assistance, and support. Drawing on their relationships and expertise in youth development, policy, and practice, the Forum for Youth Investment will partner with the Foundation in planning a convening on advancing the use of research evidence in policy and practice. In addition, they will assist the Foundation in expanding its research–practice partnerships website to encompass child welfare, mental health, justice, and education. The Forum will also partner with the Foundation in organizing a mentoring and career development workshop for grantees working with students of color, and developing a paper that calls on academic institutions to support effective mentoring relationships for scholars of color.
The Forum for Youth Investment will advance grantees’ capacities to conduct and share research by organizing learning communities and connecting researchers with policymakers.
