BYC’s improvement plan creates a second performing division, a 45-member Senior Chorus; caps chorus sizes at the Intermediate, Senior and Concert Chorus levels at 40-50 students; increases rehearsal time for the two top performing groups; expands performance opportunities for choristers; and adds a mentoring program to enable peer-to-peer support, teaching, and learning.
The Brooklyn Youth Chorus (BYC)has identified a need for changes to the chorus division structure in order to improve the quality of teaching in each division, expand performance opportunities for choristers, and ensure that choristers have appropriate opportunities to advance from one division to the next.
