Increasing Retention of Teen Reading Tutors

READ trains middle and high school students to teach reading skills to elementary school students after school and during the summer. Due to competing financial and scheduling constraints, many teen tutors are unable to complete the tutoring cycle.

READ trains middle and high school students to teach reading skills to elementary school students after school and during the summer. Due to competing financial and scheduling constraints, many teen tutors are unable to complete the tutoring cycle. To enhance recruitment and improve retention rates, READ will test the effects of providing stipends to their teen tutors.
