Making a Difference Today for Tomorrow: Campaign for the ASA MFP

This award will support the American Sociological Association’s (ASA) Minority Fellowship Program (MFP). Founded nearly 50 years ago, the MFP fosters a diverse pipeline of sociology researchers by supporting cohorts of predoctoral graduate students from minoritized backgrounds with financial assistance and professional development opportunities. The program has supported over 500 scholars since its inception and boasts an impressive track record: Alumni have gone on to amplify public discussion around important research topics, inform various policy efforts, serve on national advisory boards, and assume leadership positions at the ASA. This grant will support three months of expenses (including cost of living, travel and fees to attend ASA Annual Meetings, and networking opportunities) for the program’s five current Fellows.
