The Education Funder Strategy Group (EFSG) is a learning community of over thirty national, state, and regional foundations committed to learning about how to foster systemic change in public education. The EFSG’s activities are designed to provide a forum for its members to interact with and learn from each other, meet with policymakers and thought leaders, participate in working groups, and collaborate with other funders. Self-organizing funder collaborations that have emerged from EFSG’s membership include the funder’s learning community on using evidence for change, which meets quarterly, as well as working groups on racial equity and social and emotional learning. In addition, EFSG plans to explore ways to cultivate international learning opportunities to enable funders and policymakers to learn from high-performing, high-equity education systems abroad.
